Parenting is not about shaping the child. It is more about creating an environment in which the child shapes itself.
So you don’t get to choose what the child should do or shouldn’t do.You just lay down the ground rules and let the child decide the path it wants to take.
You can teach your child what’s good or bad, what’s desirable or undesirable, what’s right or wrong BUT don’t tell them that this is an absolute reality in which they have to live.
True freedom just doesn’t come from the right to choose. One should also have the knowledge about their choices because then only they can think as a person in their own right and choose the path they want to follow.
This may sound like it’s only possible for the privileged but not really.Living in an environment deprived of choices is a downside but it allows one to create opportunities for oneself. It’s a refreshing experience in itself.
When you can afford things, you get to choose. When you can’t afford something you get the opportunity to create.People don’t create inventions because they don’t need them. They create them because they feel their lives are lacking something and add meaning to it.
Not having something is not necessarily a disadvantage. It is an opportunity to create something with your own hands. On the other hand, having almost everything gives us an opportunity to explore more and learn to create.
True! One should never stop, instead start doing something productive using anything one has or work for anything one wishes to have.
